HP announces sixteen new notebook models that range from consumer to business models. These are designed with the environment in mind, with energy-efficient features and select materials for easier recycling. Among the consumer line are the Pavilion dv4, dv5 and dv7 Entertainment notebooks, the Pavilion tx2500 Tablet PC, and the Presario CQ40, CQ45 and CQ50 notebooks. Three of the models use Intel Core 2 Duo processors and can be upgraded with 4GB of RAM and fingerprint scanners. Webcams and microphones are a standard feature on all models. Additionally, HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection has been built in; this automatically detects if a notebook has been dropped, stopping the hard drive from spinning during its journey to the floor.
Another model, the Pavilion tx2500 Tablet, uses an AMD Turion 64 X2 Duel Core processor, with up to 4GB of RAM, 160GB to 320GB HDD, and a standard fingerprint reader. The display is 12.1 inches and has WXGA resolution, and the tx2500 has both Wi-Fi and Gig E. HP also introduced the HP xb4 Notebook Media Docking Station and HP Bluetooth Stereo Headphones with noise cancellation.
The elitist notebook meets military standards for dust, vibration, humidity, altitude and temperatures, and supports 45nm Intel Core 2 Duo 9000 and 8000 series CPUs. Up to 8GB of RAM can be installed, and a choice of 120GB to 250GB 5,400-rpm SATA hard-drives or 120GB/160GB 7,200-rpm SATA drives.
